Natural Resources/Conservation

    Introduction

Hays County strives to be a responsible steward of the unique sensitive ecological and natural resources with efforts for balancing economic growth and environmental protection. Hays County actively collaborates and partners with stakeholders on preserving, conserving, and protecting the beautiful landscapes, wildlife habitats, pristine streams and rivers, spring flows, aquifer recharge and water quality, as well as historical and cultural sites. Ensuring ecosystem services provided by the natural landscape and the environment remain available to both current and future residents of Hays County is one of the many of the County's goals. Protecting ecosystem services also provides essential public health and safety benefits to local residents, a key priority for Hays County.
