Law Library

    Introduction

The Hays County Law Library serves county residents, officials, judges, attorneys, litigants and other patrons with legal research, reference and educational needs. The Law Library aims to provide the most valuable resources to patrons and facilitate access to the justice system.

The Law Library operates through a portion of civil court costs dedicated to the Library's operation, per Local Government Code §323.023. The Law Library is open to the general public and attorneys for legal research, e-filing and drafting. The Law Library staff assists the public by providing patrons with resources to conduct legal research. Law Library staff do not provide legal advice. The Law Library is a space for the public to conduct research on computers, use print legal resources, e-file, draft legal documents and meet with a client to draft forms or find research materials.

The Law Library is a member of the American Association of Law Libraries.
