Hays County has several types of permits available. Review the list below and click on the one you need:

Building & Development Permits

Building/Development Permits - typically for new development, construction and home remodeling

Plan Review Permits - to have county officials review construction and building plans

Outdoor Burn/Fire Permits

These are issued through the Hays County Fire Marshal's Office. For residential burn permits; email burnpermits@co.hays.tx.us and you will receive an automated email reply with rules to follow and additional information. For commercial burn permits, log into this website and submit an operational permit.
NOTE: Submitting for a permit does not mean it is approved.

Typically for new construction or remodeling projects.
